Dr. Karsha Yang is a board-certified Family Medicine physician. She attended medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and completed her residency training at Merced Family Medicine Residency. She has experience managing chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure, and providing education about preventative health. She is passionate about mental health and medical missions. Her personal interests include spending time with family, watching college sports, hiking, traveling, and cooking.
Lived in worked in settings all around the world from California to Hawaii to Kentucky to international mobile outreach clinics in places such as Nicaragua, Mexico, Uganda, and Sri Lanka.
Experienced in providing primary care and preventative care via telehealth.
I’m passionate about international medical missions. During my various trips abroad, I loved setting up mobile outreach clinics, providing healthcare services to patients in remote regions. I also have a special interest in mental health and preventative care.
Born and raised in Michigan.
Some specifics about the international medical missions I’ve done:
- Nicaragua: shadowed physicians in rural settings, organized care packages for local families
- Mexico: conducted initial patient assessments for mentally handicapped orphans, delivered treatment in community outreach clinics
- Uganda: assisted in the medical clinic,performed needs assessments for landslide victims, presented a series of healthtalks addressing diverse community needs
- Sri Lanka: provided acute care in a localvillage school, organized social activities for elderly widows in the village,conducted mobile blood pressure screenings
