My name is Nelsy Villalobos. I am a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience providing clinical social work services. I specialize in supporting clients who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges. By combining Trauma Informed Care and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MBCT) with a variety of other approaches, I work with individuals to create lasting change. If you are dealing with a history of trauma or abuse, anxiety, self-esteem struggles, chronic unhappiness or emotional wounds that have impacted your overall well being, I am here to help.
I specialize in helping individuals with stress and anxiety relief, trauma and abuse, improving self-esteem and depression. I also offer support for child and adolescent mental health, family conflicts, LGBTQ, parenting challenges, anger management and coping with life changes. I work virtually with children (ages 11 +), teens, adults and older adults.
I understand that taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. My goal is to work alongside you in a safe and non judgmental space to make that happen. I am looking forward to working with you.
Outside of my professional life as a therapist, I'm someone who values exploration and connection. I love to travel, whether it's exploring new cities or finding quiet corners in nature where I can recharge. I'm friendly, approachable, and genuinely care about the well-being of others. Empathy is at the heart of everything I do, and I believe it's essential in both my personal and professional interactions.
I love animals and am always seeking ways to connect with nature. Being outdoors plays a big role in my life; I find peace and inspiration in outdoor spaces, often spending time gardening and nurturing plants. This connection to nature is a big part of my overall health mindset, allowing me to focus on balancing physical and mental wellness.
Intellectually, I'm deeply curious and love research. I’m constantly seeking new knowledge to grow both personally and professionally.
As someone who enjoys reading and learning, I can say that I am an academic at heart—always exploring new ideas and perspectives.

I specialize in the treatment of Stress and Anxiety, Depression and Trauma. During treatment you will learn to identify, challenge and reframe the negative thoughts that are likely contributing to your feelings of sadness, hopelessness and anxiety. You will also develop healthier coping strategies for improved emotional regulation and overall well-being.
I often use Cognitive behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my practice. During our initial sessions together, you will learn to identify, challenge and reframe the thought pattens that negatively influence your feelings and experiences. Once paired with mindfulness techniques learned in therapy, you will have powerful tools that encourage nonjudgemental awareness and promote your healing process.
